How SkitMedia Helped Catalyx Secure $7.1M in Funding

Background
Catalyx builds unmanned space labs and re-entry capsules, enabling scientific payloads to be launched into orbit and returned back to Earth. When we first met them, the team was operating under the name Space Rickshaw — with strong technical capabilities, but a brand and communication system that did not reflect the seriousness of the mission. The engineering was advanced.
The story and external perception needed to catch up.
1. Initial Branding as Space Rickshaw
At the earliest stage, we:
- Created the logo, visual identity system, and typography direction
- Developed the brand guidelines
Built the foundational look & feel used in early outreach and investor conversations.This gave the team its first professional brand identity.
2. Techstars Accelerator Acceptance
Following early traction and validation, the team was accepted into the Techstars Space Accelerator.
This created the need for:
- A more globally credible identity
- Clearer investor communication
- A brand aligned with aerospace and deep-tech expectations
3. Strategic Rebrand to Catalyx
We led the complete rebrand:
- Name change: Space Rickshaw → Catalyx
- Created the core positioning direction
- Introduced the tagline: “Innovation Accelerated”
- Built a refined visual identity built for aerospace-grade trust and scalability
This shifted perception from experimental to mission-critical.
4: Investor Pitch & Google HQ Presentation
We designed the pitch deck used at Google HQ and later investor demo days.
- The deck included timed animations synchronized to the founder’s speech
- Complex orbital logistics concepts were simplified into clear visual storytelling
- The business model became easier for investors to understand
- We also created event banners, on-stage displays, and presentation assets
This dramatically strengthened the clarity and confidence of investor communications.
5. Founder Presence & Credibility Layer
To present a venture-backable founding team, we:
- Designed professional LinkedIn banners
- Built personal portfolio websites for each founder
- Established a consistent brand identity across all social platforms
- We also created event banners, on-stage displays, and presentation assets
This gave the team a uniform, polished, high-trust public presence.
